CNM receives $255000 for student services – Bizjournals.com
Central New Mexico Community College received a 5,505 grant from the U.S. Department of Education to reinforce its TRiO Student Support Services program.
The grant is the first annual installment of a five-year federal award that exceeds million.
The TRiO program provides an array of services to improve academic success rates among low-income and first generation college students, and students with disabilities, said U.S. Sen. Jeff Bingaman, D-NM, in a prepared statement announcing the funding. It provides tutoring, mentoring and academic and career guidance.
“I strongly support TRiO because I have seen the difference it makes in the lives and futures of New Mexico students,” Bingaman said.
