Thought I’d try something different and actually comment on the frame first. The MCS format frames are great frames that do a good job complementing almost any photograph. They provide a thin neutral frame that doen’t draw attention away from the picture at an outstanding value.
Now, as far as the price and how badly everyone is getting ripped off on shipping, I’ll offer a few thoughts of my own. The best value on these frames is when Michaels puts them on sale (make sure you check their overstock because the shelves are almost always empty). The second best value is to go to the Adorama site and order them directly. They charge $.09 more per frame, but if you buy them with another item, the shipping is much cheaper. For example, today I ordered a pantone huey (screen calibrator) and a visible dust arctic butterfly. The shipping for both items (UPS ground) was 11.51. I added 12 of these frames at 1.99, and the shipping only increased to 13.95. So I paid .20 per fram for shipping for an actual price of 2.19 a frame – a heck of a bargain in my opinion.

I was very pleased. I ordered 18 frames, since some reviews had said that a couple would arrive broken.
That was not the case for me all arrived just fine. They were packaged in boxes of 6, so maybe that’s the trick.
Order in multiples of six. They are very simple, great for photos since they do not detract. I used them for a photo collage of 8x10s.

helps focus on your art/photos instead of the frame — perfect for what i wanted!!

It’s a good bulk value, however as one other person stated they do tend to arrive broken. I got lucky. I ordered 11. (My gallery exhibit is 11 pictures, hence the odd number order), 10 of them arrived perfect, but one of them arrived with a small chip in the glass on the bottom corner. Sadly the cost to return the one broken frame in shipping would be more than the cost of the frame.

I love these frames. Dollar store used to carry them which was by far the cheapest. They must have gained popularity because they cost more now. But this is the cheapest I’ve found (on Amazon). If you order a lot the cost is still significantly lower than stores despite shipping prices. I just spent $3.99 on one 8×10 and if I order a lot than it’s less than half that. I’m a photographer and I use them in shows and when I give my photographs as gifts. They’re easy, cheap and look professional.
